G. W. Carrington
George William Carrington 1855-1940. Born in Gloucester, England, G.W. Carrington studied with his father, landscape artist and surveyor G. W. Carrington (senior). Arriving in Otago, G. W. Carrington painted landscape scenes mainly in oil and taught art, becoming the Education Board teacher at Pine Hill. He exhibited OAS 1882-1935, N.Z. International Exhibition ChCh 1906-07. In New Zealand he is represented in Hocken and Te Papa. | |
